Mac book pro vs Mac book air

Hi, I'm about to buy a Mac and it will be my first, just unsure to go for a pro or air. I will mainly be using it for downloading of music, movies and web browsing. Nothing to advanced! I do however worry about the limited space the air has available, I just need some advice! Hope you can help me please.

You can use external drives when space becomes an issue, but unless you really need (or want) the light weight and slim profile of the MBA, the MBP is a better value.

+1. I agree. Overall the MBP is the better value and more importantly, it can be upgraded with more memory and easily upgraded with a larger hard drive if needed.

The Air memory is permanent and can not be upgraded. The SSD can be upgraded but since it takes a special type of SSD, it will cost more.

I have both (13 inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air), for the money, go with the MacBook Pro. Just for the dollar for dollar consideration. Now if you don't mid paying a little more then go for the Air. I like mine so much, I've given my MacBook Pro to my wife and have an external drive to save my files to.

Another vote for the MacBook Pro. If you don't need the portability of the MBA, the MBP is much more expandable and will serve you much better in the long run.
