I have an Apple Macbook Pro A1226 Laptop, 2.2GHz, 250GB, 2GB DDR2, MAC 10.7 Lion.

the laptop is struggling a bit with aperture or when it start to be a bit busy.

Beside upgrading the ram, is there anything else i could do without breaking the bank ?

You pegged it - RAM will help you a lot. Make sure your HDD has plenty of free space as well.

Download OmniDisk Sweeper (free utility) that will scan your HD and show where all of your files are located and the space they take up. Don't delete anything you aren't sure about of course.
