I'm attempted to reinstall my office 2008 but couldn't. The set-up assistant requested for a 25-letter code but all I have is 20-letter code which was what I used originally to install the microsoft office.

What do I do please?

The product ID codes for MS Office 2008 have always been 25 characters. You either have the wrong code or are missing 5 characters.

Also, if your MS Office 2008 is the Home and Student version, it came with three sets of 25 character codes.

The 20 letter code is the Product ID as supplied by Microsoft after activating. The 25 letter activation code will be on a yellow sticker on the CD case, or carton if a boxed set. Folk often say Office 2008 did not have to be activated, but it sure did Down Under.
