Can I run 16gb of ram in my August 2010 MBP ?
Would I benefit from it ?

You could get 8 Gig in that model

Would you benefit, well yes, unless all you do is surf the web and do email

I have 8gb already, ijust wondered if the jump to 16 was worth it or possible.
I code 2mb 1024bit encryption code so quite intensive.

I do not think that the macbook can handle 16gb. The most that the macbooks can handle is 8gb.
