Slow Boot?

My Macbook Pro has the OWC Mercury extreme pro SSD installed 6G version and it takes somewhere around 45 seconds to boot up.

I thought it would be around 15 or so.

Any ideas why?

My MacBook Pro takes a good bit longer than 15 seconds to boot (from a powered off state).

Sorry...I missed that detail. No I don't have an SSD. I guess 45 seconds would be sort of long then.

What model MacBook Pro do you have?

Here's a solution that seems to fit your situation PERFECTLY!!!:

Fix SSD slow boot times - Mac OS X Hints

"The fix is to go into System Preferences » Startup Disk and select your new solid-state drive. This prevents a 30-second timeout before the boot starts."

So, if I click on my SSD from the "system i want to start up my computer" will anything else change?

Nothing will get erased or anything?

Im a bit confused because the computer has the SSD in it and Lion already installed, wouldn't it already boot from the SSD? Theres nothing else to boot from?

Nothing will be changed...just follow the procedure in the link...and I bet you will be good to go!
