iTunes error

I just got an iPad and plugged it into my MacBook. I got the error message below:

"The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would you like to download iTunes now?"

How do I correct this?

Are you running iTunes 10.5 as it is a requirement for the iPad ?
