I just upgraded to Lion and after the install my desktop was shown in blocks. If I open a window and move it there's a trail of blocks that follows. I did a reinstall but no luck. Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like an issue with your graphics driver. What are the specs of your Mac?

Hmmmm. Best thing to try is resetting the PRAM. That has cleared up odd issues for some people after installing Lion. There's probably a setting stored there that is corrupt or doesn't match to what Lion is expecting.

That did not seem to help. Do you happen to have other suggestions?

Try running the Apple Hardware Test to see if you have a problem with the GPU. Maybe it's faulty in a manner that wasn't evident until the upgrade to Lion.

Barring that… try creating a new user account, log out of your regular one, and log into the new one to see if the problems replicate there.
