Hello, I recently changed the user (name next to house icon) on my OSX SnowLeopard system but the old name still reappears in the terminal

Daphne:~ festo$

I would like to change it from displaying "festo" to the new name I have entered. The only trace of "festo" i could find on my HDD was the download of Eclipse. Is deleting this and then re-downloading going to be the only way to solve my problem? Thanks.

Eclipse has nothing to do with this. Do you have a ~/.bash_profile file? If so, can you post it here for us?

It's very possible that your old username was hard coded as a value for the PS1 environment variable (although I don't see why this would be the case).

Way... way too many specs to list.
I'd be willing to bet that festo is still the Account Name under Advanced Options, under the user in user control panel.
