error: device cannot be ejected because the cookie monster is chewing the cable

Help!

I'm a little freaked out by the message I saw yesterday when I tried to eject my HTC Desire from my macbook.

"error: device cannot be ejected because the cookie monster is chewing the cable"

Should I be?

I searched on Google for that error message and the only thing I could see was a reference to it in a hackers dictionary....., though there was seemingly very little info on the error message at all.

I've never had any probs with this mac before. Then today when the battery was running low it made this loud beeping sound ive never heard before, not a high pitched sound bur a loud low pitched beeping that just carried on - the only way i could stop it was to take the battery out. i then turned it back on and it was fine. then the next time it was low on battery it made the same noise.

Thanks in advance for any help. Im quite concerned about that strange error message and dont know what i should do about it.

I got a strange message on my mac the other day when I tried to eject my htc desire:

"error: the device cannot be ejected because the cookie monster is chewing the cable."

This obviously freaked me out a bit, so I have been doing a lot of reading trying to work out if there is any way I can find out if my mac has been compromised (if there is a trojan on my computer, or anything like that i need to be worried about). I can't seem to find any info about how to find out, except for looking at activity monitor - but I don't know what I'm looking for!

Can anyone help? Ive posted it below. Is it normal for pbs to be 79.5% of cpu? Is there anything here that looks suspicious? Is there anything else I should be doing to fond out what that cookie monster message was about?

If I had any clue - I would have already offered it.

No clue . . . I did a search and the only thing I turned up was your post on the Android Forums.
As they mentioned, possibly something on your SD card. Maybe somebody at HTC has a sense of humor and it's an Easter Egg.
Doubt seriously it is any kind of Mac Malware.

Let us know what you find out, if anything.

Hi. The only thing I installed recently was "swype" though this is a pretty common app I thought?

The beeping thing hasnt happened again, and neither has anything else out of the ordinary, but its just such an unusual message, particularly given that the only references to "cookie monster" on the web seem to do with hacking. See this link: CookieMonster: Cookie Hijacking | fscked.org

So to run through it again. I get a refurbed phone from Orange. I buy a Kingston SD card from Amazon (seller has 99% positive feedback). I install swype. I plug my htc into my mac, and open doubletwist - I then try to eject the htc because I wanted to uninstall and reinstall doubletwist (no logical reason, I just thought it might be sensible because I originally installed doubletwist on my old phone - though it might help to start ove).

When I tried to eject it I got that error message. I then later tried to install an update to swype on my phone (wirelessly) and got a message saying there was no memory free on my phone (which I thought was odd given that I had a new 16gb sd card.)

And that's about where I'm at. I'd kind of hoped that after posting on here someone would have said "Oh that, yea I know what that is, you need to do this" so the less anyone knows about it the weirder it all seems.

Anyway, any help most gratefully received. Anyone got any thoughts about the pbs taking up 80% of cpu when checked in activity monitor? Is that normal?
