Download voice recordings

I downloaded lecturers from a voice recorder to my mac. It went to documents how can i play the recordings? Thx

It depends upon what format the files are saved in. I'd try double clicking the file and see if it opens in iTunes. If that does not work we'll need to know the type of sound file created. Try doing a Get Info on the file to determine that.

I did double click. Nothing happened. How do i do this get info? Thx

Sorry should have mentioned that. You can do a Get Info by pressing the Command and I keys simultaneously. If you have the documentation for the recorder the information should be there. If you know the manufacturer and model number of recorder we might be able to figure it out from there.

Can you tell me the make and model of voice recorder that you used? With that we should be able to determine the file types the recorder is capable of saving in and find appropriate software.

What is the extension on the file you are trying to play?

Filename extension is say like iChat.app. A music file would be say song.wav or song.mp3 .

the extension is after the filename and period.
