Syncing Contacts with iTunes

Connect the iPhone to the Mac. Open iTunes. Select your iPhone from the left window pane. Click the Info tab in the right window pane. Check the box marked "Sync Address Book Contacts".
That should be all there is to it, unless you've previously configured either or both devices to sync with iCloud.
