iPad goes blank

Ive noticed similar comments on the iPad screen blacking. my screen goes black right in the middle of my activity...usually while I'm browsing. The screen goes black and then goes to the home page screen, and I have to reopen my browser. Any info to fix this problem?

Check for updates. I just bought mine the other day and there was already an update. I would start there and then re-post if necessary.

Power off and back on once in awhile to clear the memory.

Is it always while using the same app? Sometimes an app has a bug that causes it to crash. I can't get the new Facebook app to work right on my iPad. It crashes at least once every day. Hopefully a future update will resolve the issue...
