Hi, i'm trying to downgrade from OSX Lion. Many of my programs are power pc, so they don't function anymore. Formatted the hard drive and tried to reinstall from the disk that came with my macbook osx 10.5.6. the problem is that when i try to install from that disk, I get the message that i need to restart my computer. Every time i restart, the same message comes up. I'm stuck in a loop. Am i doing something wrong?

That is a Kernel Panic. Is that 10.5.6 FOR SURE the DVD that came with your Mac?

What model is your Mac? You will get a Kernel Panic sometimes when you try and boot from a non supported GRAY OSX DVD.

Give us some more info.

I would say you had a bad stick of RAM but Lion ran fine correct? If it were the RAM I would think Lion would get panics also. Is the RAM the same RAM that came from Apple of have you upgraded it?
