As seen in the attached picture, obscene amounts of my memory is used by this one... thing. I don't know what it is, but it's causing my fan to sound like a 747. Is there any way to get rid of this? Help!

Yes - quit whatever's using flash. Safari can get locked up sometimes - quit Safari and restart and I bet it goes away. Use an extension like click-to-flash so you can pick and choose what flash is running.

This is one of the reasons everyone wants Flash to be placed in the scrap heap. I second Brian's advice about Click-To-Flash if you must use it. Alternately, why not try uninstalling it for a while? More and more sites are going away from it.
