Playing .wmv files at 2x speed

Hello all,

I need to play .wmv files available on a link at my school's website at 2x speed. VLC media player is glitchy and goes silent after about 10 seconds. Flip4Mac seems to be a complete scam and won't allow me to save .wmv files as quicktime. I don't know what to do. I really need this to start working immediately. I may just have to buy a windows pc for windows media player if I cannot resolve this issue.

If you can, use Handbrake to convert the video to a Quicktime-compatible format. The "Normal" preset should do fine for you. See tutorial below (it's a little outdated and the UI has changed some, but using a preset won't change what you will do).
