How do I put movies on my ipod video

I've searched and tried to find the answer but have had no luck. How Do I put dvd's on my ipod? I can't figure it out. I know how to convert them through quicktime, but how do I get a dvd into quicktime?

This works like a champ, thank you so much for the link.

I'm even using it on 10.2.8 which is something that Apple says you can't even do with the video iPod.
