Hi all, I'm having an issue at the minute when logging in to our mac network with specific machines.
Basically what I'm finding is if I add software or run updates on a mac then log in to a network account, the machine hangs just after it applies the desktop background. It doesn't seem to be a specific piece of software as this is happening any time I apply an update (I've installed Office 2011 and had this issue, I installed iLife and had this issue, I ran software updates and once installed had this issue). Does anyone have any ideas what may have caused this?
I'm not sure if this is related, but it has just been reported to me that every now and then (probably once or twice a day), when students are logging in to the network, their accounts seem to log in, but no documents are available and they are unable to save anything that they work on. Once they log out then back in, there is no problem.
Server: Mac OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8
iMacs: Leopard 10.5.8
The network accounts authenticate via Open Directory and not AD.
Thankyou in advance.
