Why does the new operating system Lion not able to work on my old Mac book pro 2.16ghz Intel Core Duo

Because Lion is a TRUE 64-Bit OS. It will not install on a 32-Bit Core Duo CPU. Sorry.

Thanks, Anyone want to buy a macbook pro 2.16 intel core duo it works great just won't run O/S Lion

It's really not that big a deal. Functionally Lion's really not that much more impressive than Snow Leopard.

Do not worry too much about it. We all had the same problem when Leopard would only install on +867MHz processors, and then Snow Leopard only installs on an Intel machine. This is called progress alas.
