Password?!??

Hiya, i've had my mac for 11 months and i didn't realise it had a password because everytime i logged in it'd go straight to my home screen, however.. it has asked me for a password whenever i want to delete something. However i don't have the disk? (i promise i haven't stole it)!!!!!

You set up a password when you first set up OS X. This is the password being asked for. Do you remember this password?

If not, you can reset the original password (see instructions here) but you'll need to find the discs. They came with your machine and will be grey.

i have lost the discs

Then you will need to buy a set of disks.

You can change the password without your disk. See the following article and follow instructions carefully: LINK

And, as soon as you can, buy a new install DVD disk. Being without one will only create problems for you in the future.
