I don't - but I had toyed with the idea of picking up iRig if I decide to start playing a little more often.

I don't have one either, but as Brian said, if I was to get one it would be the iRig...While we're kind of on the subject, does anyone here use Logic? I'm wondering if it's worth the money when Garageband (on the iMac) seems to meet most of my needs.

that SG is beautiful!

Thanks! It's pretty filthy at the moment, which I hadn't really noticed until I got up close to take some pics of it it today... As promised a while back, a couple more shots of the SG, and the acoustics.

Angus...

I never really notice the dust when I'm playing... Kinda glad I don't now, or I'd have to clean it before each time I pick it up!

Cheapo Ibanez acoustic, doesn't get played much - travels a lot though. :)

And finally, Fender electro-acoustic - Again, doesn't really see the light of day, it's a bit too big to sit down and play for any amount of time, and the strings are like razor wire but I'm too lazy to get them changed. 'Tis a joy to look at though. ;)

Nice. Like the Angus on the tail piece of the SG - hehe. :)

I've actually pulled my acoustic out of mothballs over the past two weeks. The entire family is coming to the house for Christmas - and since everyone in my family plays or sings or at least thinks that they can - it invariably turns into a jam session. Figured I'd better go remember how to play some cowboy chords at the very least. Kind of fun playing again - ....hmmmm...maybe I need some more gear... :D

Wow. I had seen the creation of this thread, and never bothered to look at it until now. Loads of good stuff! Brian, I'd have had the answer, but didn't get here until now!

I'll post some pics sometime later this week, no time for that now. As for using iRig with Garageband, I'd rather suggest one go for iJam by Apogee. The SNR is much better and very noticeable. Lots of background hiss with the iRig. Yes, the iJam is $100, but IMO, worth it. I personally have the Apogee ONE, but don't use it much right now. Wish I had the time!

I thought I would have seen one Les Paul by now wish I had one but for as little as I play a little over my budget.

Nice - dig that PRS and the bass in the middle, actually all of those basses. Who makes that middle one? I have a brother that plays the bass professionally - so I don't even bother trying. :D

I was wondering about the Bass in the middle also. What is the Blue guitar on the right?

The blues had a baby, and they called it Rock and Roll

Cool tread. I have a Black on black '79 Fender Strat, an '08 Takemine G series acoustic/electric, a Ventura classical, and a Ventura gold sparkle Les Paul knock off with pretty hot Humbuckings from the late '60's or early '70's. My amp is an old, old Crate G40C that is tired, tired, tired. I have Garage band, and an older M-Audio interface. I also just bought a Shure PG58 mic and stand. I love to play the blues. I've played for forty years. I'm self taught, and because of that I have terrible form because my teacher didn't know crap. I used to play every day or two until my son, now nearly 7 and my daughter, now 3 1/2 came along. Now, not so much. I would dearly love to get back to playing, recording, and writing. I'll post pictures as soon as I have time to do so. Oh, I used to play songs from David Bowie's "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" in college; hence my moniker. BTW, I also am a teacher and was trained in the Little Kids Rock program for kids. No, money for after school programs this year, Thank you Rick Perry, so I'm not teaching classes this semester or probably next. Next, influences...

Sorry - you only get credit in this thread for items that you post pictures of - pictures you took of gear you own. :)

I have the Tone Press and OCD pedals. Is that the MXR compressor up top? I think I still have one downstairs. I forgot to post pics of my pedals.

Don't let the Tele fool you. I don't do country. Although I'm sure it would handle it just fine.

I'm just a living room player and stay mostly in classic rock and blues.

It's the Carbon Copy. I use that one a lot. MXR makes good pedals.

Arise! Dead thread!

Not posted in here for ages, so I thought I'd share this with y'all... :)

I bought this from a charity shop for 50p (75c) at the weekend. Granted, it's not the best music, and it's not exactly challenging to play, but for sheer nostalgia (I listened to this album a lot in my teens) it's worth every one of those fifty pennies! :)

So, to get this beast rolling again, what kind of music do you guys love to play?

Cheers!

Chuck, as far as playing of late, Blues. Been a Blues player most of my life. I usually mix it with Rock and some jazz, but my playing is mostly Blues.

As far as listening, I try to be open and love a lot of different styles (Except RAP! :D).

Dont feel like you have to display everything as cents, let the Yanks work it out for themselves ;)

Oh God, we play that stuff constantly at work, i cant stand his voice anymore ;)

I like playing metal. Recently Ive been trying to get my head round "Composure" by August Burns Red. Its quite difficult, but im slowly getting the hang of it by looping various sections in Logic.
