I'm just about to set up a network, but trying to figure out exactly how it will work. Basically there will be a Netgear 834G on the ground floor, with the phone line plugged into it. I will then run 5e cable to the office (and other rooms, although that's not important for now). In the office I will have an Airport Extreme, with a hard drive plugged into its USB port and a printer plugged into one of its RJ45 ports.
I'm trialling this at the moment and when I connect to the Netgear wirelessly, I can't see the hard drive connected to the Airport. Am I doing something wrong, or is this just not going to work?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated
