Which MBP? 2.2 or 2.4

I'm ready to buy a new MacBook Pro I sold my 2008 Penryn 2.4. I want to know if the $400.00 extra for the 15" i7 is worth it over the MacBook Pro i7 2.2. I'm using Final Cut Pro, or I should say my son is, At the moment he has a iMac 27" Core i5 and I want him to be able to produce faster but I'd also like to spend the $400.00 on a RAID 0. Also I'm used to the matt style display but thats a $150.00 upgrade. I'd like to hear a pro and con on this issue too.

I think a lot of that cost differential is the bump in CPU from 512 MB to 1GB and either one should be quite capable of working and obviously the faster one will always shave off a few seconds here and there.

How do you think the 2.2 with the 512 card will compare to the iMac 27" Quad core 2.7 Core i5?

Can not give you an honest answer it would take a side by side comparison running the same software but these are both fast computers by anyones standards.
