Mail Displaying Notification, no mail

Mail is showing me 1 notification in the inbox where the is no mail. Anybody have a fix for this or experienced the same problem? Have checked on iCloud.com and it shows an empty inbox as well. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have the Apple RSS feed turned on? If so, turn it off. I had the same problem a while back and that was the cause.

I don't have the RSS feed turned on and this notification is driving me nuts! It's only on my mac, it doesn't come up on my iPhone either. Any other ideas?

Have you tried accessing your ISP's server direct using your web browser and see if there is mail there that hasn't been downloaded? Sorry, I don't off hand know of anything else that might cause it to happen.
