Hi am a newbie on here so if i have posted in the wrong place i apologise.
I just bought a macbook pro, turned i turned it on and with an ethernet cable followed the instructions to migrate files over. The trouble is it didnt transfer files of music or jpegs or logic pro tracks i have just the applications. I am absolutely stuck as how to do it any other way. Also i dont have the original discs as apple store rebooted it from scratch yesterday. Also i have the Insecure library start up message come again which was always on the other imac from when i bought it second hand. Any help would be much appreciated as i need to sell the imac to chip in with the macbook pro costs.

My advice for a successful migration is to use Time Machine rather than fool with the Migration Assistant and selection. Make a complete backup of the iMac using TM, turn on the new MBP for the first time and respond to the question of transferring data over from another Mac. Hook up your TM external drive with the backup and you'll be done in short order.
