I have an external hard drive with 3 partitions, one on which i do my time machine backups, one which has Mac format, and the third partition pc format. Recently i plugged the drive in to run backups but it didnt show. i ran a disk verify and repair and all seemed fine, yet it says disk not mounted. The other 2 partitions work fine. How can i fix this problem?

Your Mac's Specs
Way... way too many specs to list.
More details please.

Operating system, type of drive (USB/Firewire) and...

are there any errors in console after you try and mount the drive?

disc mount problem

Os X (10.5.8)
usb
this disc is a Seagate Free Agent, 500Gb, but had the same problem on a smaller portable disk (Procase usb2, 350Gb)
they seem to work fine and then suddenly "lose" the mounting.
I also run these often through a hub (D-Link, DUB H7).
Let me know if you need more info

cant run a mount the drive, it tells me to run disk verify and repair first, so like a vicious cycle
