Hi, I just got a macbook air and need to install STATA on it. The STATA CD that I have should have a mac version on it, but obviously the air doesnt have an optical drive. Im using another computer to try and move the mac install files to a usb, but I cant seem to find anything. Ive found .msi for windows and install script for linux, but Im not seeing anything else. Would a mac use the linux files or what am I missing here?

No, a Mac will not use the Linux files (two different operating systems). Look into using Remote Disc to share the optical drive from the other computer. If you do this, hopefully the Mac will pick up the appropriate files from the disc.
