A Lion Question

Hi, I recently upgraded my macbook pro to Lion and its working great. The only thing is when my computer boots up, i have all kinds of apps opening and i cannot find where i can change this . It is not in system/preferences/users/startup...:\

It should be an option to unclick when you shut down

System Preferences, General. Remove check from the box that states: "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps"
