I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch. I'm looking to buy a printer which I can use with MBP wirelessly. I know that if I buy a Airport Express and any printer it will work but my question is, if I buy a wireless printer and no Airport Express then do I have to connect it to some computer all the time to use it with MBP wirelessly or I just need to switch it on and set it up and it will work wirelessly?
Please Help!!

A wireless printer uses the wi-fi band and no it does not need to be connected to a computer. However some instructions may require a temporary connection using USB
to do initial setup.

Thanks for the info.
I'm thinking of buying "Canon Pixma - MP497 Printer" for simple office use. Any suggestions?

I think Cannon does a better job with photos but HP seems to do better with documents and speed.
