My company is delving into the world of creating 3D golf course maps. We are dedicated Mac people. I am having difficulty finding a program that will allow me to draw or trace a golf course rendering and have it in 3D. Is there any such animal that does not require you to be an expert in CAD? The final product will be printed. Anyone have any good ideas for this?

Sketchup Pro now has a sandboxing feature where you import line drawings or make your own of contours and basically lay a virtual ground surface over the extruded lines.

That's been the easiest solution for modeling contour map like images and with a little editing you can get them looking fairly professional.
