My iMac freezes after I choose a keyboard. Stays there for hours without any progress. Does this means that i have a hardware problem or it is something with software? thanks for any smart idea.

Hi, won't work either. I tried it before. No matter what I do, with or without install CD 1 I got opening screen, pressing shift, or C or D or whatever. Opening screen starts, recognize keyboard and than gave three options- ISO European, ANSI USA and JS Japanese keyboard. After pressing ISO spinning wheel starts and never ends. Here everything stopps. What now?

I am a little confused.

Is your iMac new out of the box, or have you been using it and it just started doing this?

Any other symptoms, or anything that preceded your problem such as new software, spilling liquid (water etc) on it?

Need a lot more info if we are going to be helpful in this
