Hello there,

I have done some research and found that it is not possible, however all the articles and threads I have read are at least four years old so I don't know if that has changed, although I doubt it.

Somebody also mentioned that there is some Asus Express Video Card add-on or something like that, that would probably work on the MacBooks.

And I would like to know anyway exactly which parts are upgrade-able? I believe I know those are:

1. RAM
2. Hard Drive

By the way, would any SATA 2.5" hard drive work as a replacement for the current 300GB I have? I would like to install a 500GB or larger one with 7200RPM since my warranty is already over so I won't be voiding anything.

Upgrading the video card is not possible on any unibody MBP.

You can use any standard 2.5" SATA drive smaller than 750GB. At 750GB and above you need to verify that it is 9.5mm height. There are a few out there at 11.5 and even a couple at 12.5mm I believe that would be too tall.

So what about on any other MacBook like the white ones circa 2006? can you upgrade the graphics card on those without swapping the whole logic board?

No. You cannot upgrade the graphics on ANY MacBook or MacBook Pro...and for that matter 99% of the iBooks or Powerbooks were also not upgradeable.

The last Apple laptop I can remember with upgradeable graphics was the Powerbook 1400...and that was 15 years ago (1996).;)

Compare this the "Windows World"...and there are also very few Windows laptops where you can upgrade the graphics hardware (there are some)...but the "norm" is...not upgradeable.

So the "Apple World" and the 'Windows World"...are very similar when it comes to non-upgradeable graphics on laptops.
