I have been trying to print spreadsheets from Excel X and have wasted too much time trying to figure this one out. Time to ask.

I am running OS 10.6.8 and MS Office for Mac X from 2004 or so. When trying to print, the Print Preview is perfect but then all that prints are dashes on the sides and top. I have changed the settings to print high quality, changed fonts and whatever else was recommended. Docs in Word print well. I also tried a Gimp driver for the printer.

I do hope someone has come across this issue and has a solution.

Have you tries pressing the preview button rather than print

that opens up a PDF in Preview, at least you can see exactly what should be printed before you waste paper and ink

To be honest, printing has got to be the weakest part of excel, on mac and windows

I can see the preview as expected to print but then only a blank page prints or I get short column and row divider lines on the left and top sides.

Strangely, I tried to save as a pdf from the print window and it seems to function right but then nothing is saved.
