Recent Lion update messed up screen dimming

I just installed an update yesterday (not sure what it was; I didn't bother reading it).

Now whenever my screen dims, it won't brighten up until about 30 seconds after I press a key. I can still use my computer during that time, but the screen is dim.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know how to fix it?
