Hello all,
Recently I acquired a Sony Handycam HDR-CX150 from a friend of mine. I have never used Sony cameras and quickly found out that they (or at least this one) record in MTS format. This is problematic for me because its a good camera that I'd like to use for quite a few projects in school, but I can't do a thing with it since the MTS format is incompatible with any programs on my mac. I have the Adobe Master Collection, Final Cut Pro, and other various video editing/converting programs such as MPEG Streamclip and none of them can recognize the format. The only program I have found that slightly helps out is Handbrake. Its the only program than can convert, let alone recognize MTS and the quality plumbers even with my best efforts to retain quality in the options before the conversion.
My question is probably quite obvious by now – how can I deal with these MTS files on my mac? If its a converter I need I'd like it to be free but throw anything at me. I'd like to use this fine piece of equipment, but now its too frustrating to do anything with it.
Thanks in advance for the help.
