I have a PowerBook G4 which is currently running OSX 10.3.9. The processor is 867 MHz Power PC G4 with 1MB L3 cache. Memory is 256 MB SDRAM. I have 10 GB of space available.

What version of OSX can/should I upgrade to so I can run some newer versions of Safari, etc. on my computer?

10.5 is the latest OS you can put on your pBook. I would also recommend looking into a memory upgrade 10.5 requires at least 512mb.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Consider the costs first up. For Leopard max out the memory to 640MB, and that then is barely adequate for Leopard. A Leopard full retail install disc will set you back on auction sites $100-150.00 and as your PB is the absolute bare minimum processor requirements so it will be slow and not really worth all the expense.

You could consider Tiger but support has been discontinued so no great improvement. Sad to say either stay where you you are or think of updating the computer.
