Can anyone tell me the main differnces between the 17" X600 pro and the 20" X600 XT?

What was the point of the two variations?

20" iMac C2D 2.16ghz, 13" MacBook 2.0ghz, 60gb iPod vid, 1gb nano
The X600 Pro has a core clock of 400 Mhz, and a memory frequency of 300 Mhz (600 Mhz DDR). This yields a total of 1.6 Gpixels/sec fillrate, and 9.6 GB/sec memory bandwidth (the memory bus is 128-bit).

The X600 XT, has a core clocked at 500 Mhz, and a memory frequency of 365 Mhz (730 Mhz DDR). The X600 XT therefore has a 2 Gpixel/sec fillrate, and 11.6 GB/sec memory bandwidth.

So for Video editing and Games, go for the 20" iMac. Are we talking noticable differences in real worl performance?

Well if you are thinking about playing games at the native resolution of the LCD then you would need more power to play at 1680x1050 that the 20in supports opposed to 1440x900 that the 17in supports. Just something to think about.

They would both support Core Image/Core Video, so I think they would both do equally well with video editting with the XT only being a slight bit faster.
