Which would you recommend, a Samsung 470 (SATA 2) or Samsung 830 (SATA 3) for a computer which has SATA 2? Is there any gains in taking the Samsung 830?

No there is no gain whatsoever. If the SSD is backwards compatible, it will run at the SATA II 3GB/s limit. If you think you may update your computer in the near future, go for the SATA III. If not save your hard earned and buy the SATA II.
