acrobat adobe reader

Can I safely download the new adobe acrobat reader? My Mac is 0s x 10.4.11. Do I have to unistall anything? Thanks in advance.

You can't run the newest version - it requires at least 10.5.8 (requirements here).

Try Preview. Many people recommend Adobe Reader simply because it's the best known. Unless the document has some elaborate features built in, Preview should work fine.

I'd try Preview, if that didn't work you can download the acrobat 9 version...

I tries to download acrobat 9 after it downloaded it asked I wanted to continue due to indicating an issue, so I cancelled it. Not sure if it is even on my computer as I' m unsure how to check for it. Sorry to be a bother. i want to make sure before I try to download Skim or anything else.
