2nd Monitor question

I'm trying to set it up so my macbook pro is only running the external monitor and not its own display, is this possible? I have snow leopard. Basically im trying to play sc2 on the 2nd monitor and I cant get it to run on anything but the laptop display. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
