[sorry if I am posting on the wrong area ]
I ended up taking my WD external USB HDD in for repair, for corrupted drive heads. Prior to that, I did not notice there was something physically wrong with the drive, so I plugged it into my MacBook Pro. It did not mount the Time Machine partition or the other FAT32 partition, but disk utility recognized them. in a panic I clicked repair on the repair, walked away for 20 minutes and when I came back I saw:

This Time Machine partition was no longer visible, only the FAT32 partition was. If the drive heads are replaced, can that missing partition be recovered? Thanks.
