So I recently cam about using Boot Camp to install Ubuntu. I didn't have space for a third partition. I wanted Windows XP. So after some work, I was able to delete the Ubuntu partition, but I couldn't give that space back to the Mac HD, and every time I try giving it back it's memory, I keep getting this; "MediaKit reports partition (map) too small." Some please help me.

After a while, I just tried making another partition with boot camp since Ubuntu was gone. During that time, my Mac said I had to turn the power off, then back on again. I lost some space during that as well :/

What didn't work?

You did boot the machine to your OS X disc and not while you were booted into OS X?

It wouldn't let you delete the other partitions?
It wouldn't let you grab the MacIntosh HD partition to expand it into the whole space?
How about a screen shot of the partition tab in Disk Utility.
What version of OS X?
And disconnect all external drives attached to it.

Sorry for delay in answer. I held 'C' while booting up my Mac with the disk. I have OS X 10.6.8.
I was able to delete the Ubuntu partition, and can grab the resize bar.
I have no external drives attached.
I'll upload a screen shot in a few.
