Hi, I'm currently using my mac on a Toshiba 42" 1080p tv and I'm pretty pleased with the picture quality. However my Dad is giving me a Samsung 40" 720p tv to use in the spare room. I was thinking of putting my mac and ps3 upstairs with it. Can anybody tell me if 720p is a good enough resolution or will it look crap?

Depends on what you're doing with it. It'll be just fine for gaming and watching video.

Personally, text with OS X on a big screen TV is terrible even at 1080p.
If text looked fine to you at 1080, it will most likely look fine at 720.
