What kind DVD are you speaking of? And please read the Sticky Notice about DVD ripping, copying which is at the top of our "Movies and Video" forum.
just looked it's copy protected which explains problem. Funny in the preveiws it tells you to copy to your computer to take with you and play while traveling. Even shows computer diagram and how it only takes a few minutes.

What they *might* be referring to is that the disc for Rio includes what is called a "digital copy" (meaning an MP4 file of the movie) included on the disc. A number of DVDs have this nowadays, but I don't know if the Rio one does.
If it does, you mount the DVD as though it were a data DVD (iow, don't start watching it), and copy the MP4 file like you would any other onto your hard drive (or directly into iTunes).
