File Sharing

I have an iMac (2010) which wont receive files. It keeps asking me to pair my phone with the computer and even after pairing it still wont allow me to send files to the computer (not that it should have to pair at all). In system preferences I have activated bluetooth sharing and file sharing and I even deselected the box that says "Require pairing". I have run out of ideas!

If it's an iPhone you've got it won't do anything with the iMac via Bluetooth even if it looks like it's paired. It will only communicate via hard wire connection or wirelessly depending on iOS5.
