Currently my harddrive is:

Capacity: 250.06 GB (250,059,350,016 bytes)
Model: TOSHIBA MK2555GSXF

I wish to upgrade to 500gb but unsure where to find an internal harddrive for the job.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Installing new HD on Macbook (13" Late09 Unibody)

The standard 250gb Toshiba drive in it is too small for my liking and want to upgrade to a bigger 500gb model.
Does the new drive have to be a Toshiba also? or can it be any 500gb drive? Or any other specs it HAS to be when upgrading?
Thanks!

Just about any manufacturer will do...it definitely doesn't have to be another Toshiba. Primarily it should be no "higher/thick" than 9.5mm.

I've merged your two threads.
