bought snow leopard and xp sp3

installed both and when i boot xp it says "disk error. press any key to..."

what next?

Eight minute? Just a little patience as it is the middle of the night where most posters reside.

For starters have you installed Snow Leopard? If so go to Software Update under the Apple icon in the Menu Bar and choose Software Update and then be updated to OS X.6.8.

Go into Utilities > Bootcamp Assistant and print the guidelines. It is important you allow Bootcamp to partition the hard drive as it will not install if you pre-partition. The drive must be a single drive formatted Mac OS Extended (Journalled) and GUID partitioned. Also is the XP disc a clean, never activated disc as you will be required to activate the disc with Microsoft during the installation.
