Went for a wander around The Eden Project this afternoon, as it's only a stone's throw from my parents house, and took a few pics of the flowers in bloom. Thought I'd share a couple:

This is the "Weeee Man". Well, his face. He's supposed to be made up of what the average person throws away in their life time.

Ooops - Dirty sensor. :( All shots straight out the camera, BTW. :)

That's pretty awesome. Where is it?

Doug

P.S. I will try and best that. Have no idea of how, but I guess I've got some research to do!

I have a small collection of antique barbed-wire.

Way... way too many specs to list.
Have I mentioned recently how much I'm a non-fan of DOING environmental portraiture. Especially since it's been about 20 years since I've done it in any significant amount. I always totally feel awkward in the process... I will say though, I like the Rokinon 85mm as a budget manual prime.

Good job with that Mike. Perfect DOF for detail. Seems 5.6 is a nice sweet spot when stopping the Rokinon down a bit.

Thanks Doug, it's very much like shooting my 135mm Nikkor, cept on a dx. The best part was making my 20yr old haul the strobes & stands.

Went to the Bronx Zoo today. Unfortunately it was very gloomy and dark most of the day, and the D300's ISO performance falls apart right past 800, which is near where I had it most of the day. Took this one through pretty filthy glass:

Just exploring the boundaries of the Panasonic Lumix TZ5 at full extra super zoom, and it's really not degraded as much as I thought it might :)
Getting to like this camera even though it's reckoned as being old now.

Cheers :)

Also bought a cheap scanner a couple of days ago, an Epson V500 for $99 Works fairly well with Vuescan software. It is what prompted me to get this little gem.

VERY nice. I believe the F3 is my all-time favorite camera body.

I wanted to shoot film again, and also wanted something discrete for street shooting. My only problem with it right now is that some of my glass can be a bit top heavy. The body is so small that it can hurt if I hold it wrong when I'm focusing. I'd like to add the grip to it, but that would kill the whole discrete thing... Otherwise, it's a great piece of kit, and I can't wait until I get the negatives to scan. Who knows when that will be though... can't just shoot all willy nilly with film, right? $$ !

Toss a pancake E Series 50 on it (cheap and awesome IQ actually) and just get close ;) That reminds me, now I think I want to play with some new toys.
