Here are two shots I took from Duka Bay Resort last weekend. I dont post my best stuff on the web, to many people swipe them for their own commercial use. But here are two I decided didn't quite make it to my keep pile for my book.. One had to much water motion and the other had leaves blurred.. Enjoy..

hi Joe

I use Lightroom 3 and then PS Elements for removing blemishes. I'll check out youtube, thanks.

really enjoy looking at your work - seems we have similar tastes.

I've never really worried about my pictures being stolen. I've embedded copyright information via the camera's exif data, but don't know how to go about adding a visible watermark though it's probably right there in LR!

Nick

PS forgot to post the exposure details for the last shot:
D700
Nikkor 24mm f2.8 focused at just over 5 feet
ISO 200
f11
13 seconds
hitech filters: 3 stop ND, twilight, reverse ND grad

Nice pics all!

I am particularly fond of the night and lowlight ones. Have to say, Nick, I'm getting extremely jealous of the scenery you have available. :D

I am lucky to live where I do (when it's not raining that is!)

The shot posted yesterday is the Salthouse from a place called Port Eynon (on the Gower peninsula - designated the UK's first ever area of outstanding natural beauty), about a 30 - 40 minute drive from home. But I live only a 5 minute drive from the sea and 25 minutes from the southern area of the Brecon Beacons with its waterfalls and scenery :)

Thanks for the exposure detail. I like to look at that, to see how someone achieved the image. I really love the fluffy water too, and that red sky . . . . . WOW !!!

As to watermarks, in Aperture, its done when you export a image, but have a look at this for LR 3 and by the looks, its also when you export a image.

hi Joe

I use Lightroom 3 and then PS Elements for removing blemishes. .....

Speaking of software. You really should upgrade to the CC package. From LR3 to LR4 there were a lot of changes and upgrades, then from LR4 to 5 there were many new additions and refinements.. Its a huge step forward.

Not fun of cloud anything mind you. But after careful review, adobe will let the software run 90days without a internet connection before prompting you to let it check in on your license. So it doesn't run off any cloud mess, though it does have some ok cloud features to data storage.

But the sale ends the 31st of this month (March 31st). Were if you sign up for a year of service, you can get both LR5 and Photoshop CC for $9.99 (+tax) a month. Now they bill you each month, so its not a big chuck at one time. But thats well worth the upgrade. Also if you get it now at the $9.99 a month price, you can renew next year at the same price. But if you cancel you have to pay a cancel fee plus you loose the 9.99 price.

Since I am starting my business up, I went a head and got this even though I still use Pixelmator.

Thanks Joe - I've been looking into this for a while but being an oldy rather like the idea of owning something tangible for my outlay.

But given that the price is so low (and will be for the second year of membership as well) I might just take this offer up now.

And thanks everyone for your nice comments about my pictures. I have a very small display on flickr if anyone is interested:

Haven't visited this thread in quite awhile but I see some very nice work here so might as well join in!
This one is from Yosemite National Park in California; late afternoon light from El Capitan reflected in the Merced River. No filters.

How can such a "Left Coast" state have so much beautiful scenery? :p Been a number of years since I've visited Yosemite National Park - last time when I lived and worked in Victorville. Nice shot! :)
