new quicktime(no sound)

well the title explains it, since I downloaded the update for quicktime and itunes my sound stopped wroking on movies played in quicktime both in the player and on webpages, I also find it has to buffer alot more.

any fixes or places I can downlaod the older quicktime

oh
imac g5 rev b 1.8 and 1 gig of ram
no external speakers
vlc media player plays sound ut not quicktime

please explain any validity to that statement

Relaunching GarageBand resets some CoreAudio settings. Sorry, if that sounded like a really silly and random response, but it worked for me, when I had the problem.

i think it worked thanks, it really seemed rather silly
while it was loading there was a little blip and my speakers kidna poppedm and now it works
