I have a Cisco Valet Plus that I've used successfully as a wireless hot spot, but I'm trying to hook up a MacBook Pro to the router using an ethernet connection. I get as far as Network Preferences / Show Built-in Ethernet, then I try to configure using DHCP, but the DHCP Client ID is blank and when I click Renew DHCP Lease nothing happens.
On the Ethernet tab I do see an ethernet ID (probably an old one), and the Configure option is set to Automatically, but the Network Status for Built-in Ethernet says "Failed." When I turn off AirPort I lose my internet connection, so it appears I'm not getting connected via ethernet. Any ideas?
